coast. you can see on live doppler 7hd right now, clear skies. up towards san rafael, petaluma, a few high clouds here and there. let me take you up toward the north coast. crescent city, towards eureka, moderate rain in association with a cold front that will bring the bay area rain just in time for the early morning commute. here's what it looks like on the satellite radar composite. a lot of cold air here. this is the batch of moisture moving into the north coast, but it's back here, this plume of moisture that will make its way across the bay area tomorrow morning. we'll take a look and pinpoint that time frame for you in a bit. ter fer now to -- >> terry: now to tonight's other big story, the baseball playoffs, another do-or-die game for the giants. sir gentleman quintana is at tt

here's the strange turn of events. >> this is the aftermath of a bizarre rampage, two men, known only as jason and jay jeremiah, went on in the early morning hours on sunday. >> got calls from multiple callers saying a there was a --ance at the residence and two men were fighting and breaking out windows and trying to set the house on fire. >> when police responded to the smoking home after 1:30 a.m., they encountered jason, uncooperative, and nude. police say that's when airmyarch 29, appeared, also naked, with a loaded rifle. he put the barrel of the rifle to an officer's stomach. >> another officer saw this and fired, discharged his weapon at the man. >> jeremiah was pronounced dead at nearby kaiser hospital. jason is now in custody. after that altercation the fire engulfed the home. vallejo fire department responded and quickly put it out. then officers uncovered a

gruesome twist after following a trail of blood. >> they went to the back of the house and actually found three pets that were slaughtered in the back yard. >> while investigators don't know what led to this violent rampage, one neighbor tells me he thinks it was a love's quarrel gone too far. he says the two men were a couple and he had heard them fight at times but says he never expected this. >> disconcerting. but what are you going to do? >> court any thomas owns the home where the couple live, note therg love of collecting old mercedes cars, gardening, and refurbishing antiques for resale. >> they were great. they were here for a little over two years, took care of the house, had no complaints. took care of the yard. paid the rent on time. normal people. >> in vallejo, abc-7 news. >> terry: a high-speed pursuit

involving chp officers spead through the streets of downtown san francisco, and this is how it ended. the stolen chrysler 300 aban donned near fourth and ministry. the officers started chasing the car on he bay bridge, bumped the car once to get it to stop. the driver tried to loose them by driving into a parking garage. the driver was arrested in a nearby cafe. >> a couple of important court cases begin different phases tomorrow in oakland the jury twins the first day of del deliberations in the michelle lecase. ledisappeared from a garage last year. he body was found about four months later. >> we'll also be a sentencing for the teenager who admitted running down a father and his nine-year-old daughter in concord. david rosen could receive a sentence of more than seven years in detention, but under juvenile law he must be released when he turns 21, and he is 18 right now. he was 17 when the crash occurred. he pleaded guilty to felony

>> some good news for drivers tonight. the repairs to the san mateo bridge will be finished by 5:00 tomorrow morning, just in time for the monday morning commute, and there's even better news for next weekend. john alston joins us with the details. him a motoring. reporter: look behind men. one of the rare times the bridge is a ghost town. vehicles will be back tomorrow morning at 5:00 a.m. just in time for the monday morning traffic jam. we learned today that caltrans will not be closing the san mateo brick next weekend as originally planned. so, since friday, a caltrans contractor has installed 12 new

concrete slabs, six in each direction, right at the base of the incline, part of a $3 million earthquake retrofit paid for with bridge tolls. the panels move at the joint in event of the earthquake. the san mateo bridge won't have to be shut down again next weekend. >> always want con contingency s but worked out the contractor was making great progress and we were confident we could continue. reporter: caltrans performed and repairs and maintenance while the bridge was closed down, installing new crash cushions. workers replaced or repaired 90 signs and changed light bulbs, cleaned out some weeds. this pushed traffic the bridges around the bay area on a day when there was a game at the raiders stadium, a game with the giants, traffic was kind of havey, but who knows. on the weekends traffic is

>> a fundraiser underway in berkeley after a fire burned an historic church last night. them to -- we're live at the episco pal. interesting timing.

>> unfortunately they had this fire and changed plans just a little bit but they're still going. the church of the good shepherd has been secured by a restoration company. the parishioners planned the auction weeks ago. now they say even though they're not in the best of moods they don't want the fire to dam their devotion -- damage their devotion the church. workers are trying to secure the church from weather ask vandals. repair work is expected to start soon. fire damage and charred objects are scattered around the charred building. the parish hall next door is now the chapel and where a fundraising auction is being held. it was planned weeks ago. ellen says they had to go ahead with the auction. she says parishioners need to gather to see the fire as just another beginning. >> we keep building. this is just the beginning. i mean, church has been around

2,000 years, and stuff like this happens. we just keep moving on. and this church is 134 years old. probably be standing another 134. >> she says this auction will help lift spirits and raise money. these items have been contributed by parishioners and the church is well-insured and they hope to get reconstruction started soon. this morning they got a visit from the head of the church in san francisco. were not only promised spiritual help and promised some financial help as well. reporting live, abc-7 news. >> terry: well, nasa scientists have recovered the first chunk of the spectacular meteor seen streaking across the bay area sky wednesday night and that's it right there it apparently hit the roof of a house in novato, bounceed a couple times and ended on the ground. the home owner says she heard a loud thud.

and remembers because the house is quiet and she had just turned off the tv after the giants lost. >> the giants game, and imusually screaming and yelling and involved. i may not have heard or taken much notice, what was that? and not really -- the fact it was quiet, wow, this actually could be something. >> the angels were so angry they threw the meteor to earth because the giants lost. not true. this is what she found in her backyard. she contest -- contacted scienceties who confirmed this is indeed a small chunk of the meteor. >> the orionid meteor shower sent fire balls streaking across the night sky. check this out. the view from huntsville, alabama, caused by the earth intersecting a dust trail from a comet. happens every october. at least 20 meet yore flashed across the sky per hour. >> i went out last night, looked up, saw four in an hour and a

half. i didn't get the full -- >> you were on the slow side. >> terry: i'm on the slow slide of the meteor shower. >> leigh: all the kids out there, the parents are trying to find the rain jackets and boots. the first big rain hits tomorrow morning for the monday morning commute in times for the kids to go to school. everybody is in a panic. outside we go. a high definition mt. tamalpais camera. almost reach to giant stadium and at&t park. we're seeing from the camera on top of mt. tamalpais, clouds starting to eek in. we had a few -- plenty of sunshine. live doppler 7hd showing you some of the passing high clouds earlier this morning. and kind of started off with a gray start there they there are. and then they pushed on towards the south and the east of us. we're clear now but let's take you up along the north coast, live doppler 7hd picking up the

rain bands there, up off the north coast, decrees extent city, eureka, some of this what we call verg -- it's an indication the cold front is flying toward the bay area and will start the rain bands moving in, in the north bay, after midnight. current temperatures in the 60s. antioch. 56 in sap -- san francisco. the rain will arrive overnight, just in time for the monday morning commute hours, and then more showers will move back in by mid-week. here's actual cold front, very nicely contained. you can see the cold air behind it. this is the leading edge. this is the plume it will be moving in just in time for the 5:00, 6:00, 7:00, earl morning commute and if you're up at that hour, be sure and tune in with mike nico, 4:30 to 7:00.

he will be here tracking the heavy rain, and let me go ahead and show you the timing. this is 11:00 tonight, and you can see some of the rain bands starting to move in towards the north bay. 1:00 a.m., starts to move in now, this may be off by an hour or so but at least gives you a good sense that when this is going to move in the frontal system will move in 5:00 a.m. tomorrow morning, moderate rain, 8:00 a.m., starts to push into the south and east bay. a nice break tomorrow, 5:00 tomorrow afternoon, we're hoping the giants play tomorrow, but it looks like it will be dry, and then we'll get another band of showers moving in at 10:00, early morning tuesday, 5:00 a.m., stale few showers and everything starts to thin out by tuesday afternoon. here is a look at some rainfall. potential. we're looking at close to an inch, inch and a half, mainly in the mort bay. lesserments -- winter storm
